This 7-day, hands-on workshop is for first-time builders or those with experience. The class will include a small group of 4-5 students, to ensure that time and attention can be invested in each student and each guitar. You will learn, from start to finish, the skills necessary to construct a fine acoustic guitar. We cover everything you need to know about tools, fixtures, wood, and pearl inlay, along with all the secrets I have learned in my 30 plus years of guitar-building experience.
We have mastered the steps so that you get the guitar you want and will be proud of!
The class will be taught by 3 Master Luthier's Dale Unger, Tyler Unger & Tim Teel. Tim Teel currently serves as the Director of Instrument Design for C.F. Martin & Co. and is the Sole Proprietor of Teel Guitar Works. Tim has served many roles at Martin Guitar over the 20 some years of employment. Tim has worked on many high-end traditional projects such as Golden Era & Authentic Editions as well as the D-50 and D-100 LE models just to mention a few. Tim and I also served as the instructors for the “Martin Guitar Design Course” which was held every year at the Northampton Community College for nine years. This course helped students design and build a model instrument of their imagination.
In the workshop you will build a OM style guitar from wood and parts that have been hand selected (included in price).
We will also take a private tour of C. F. Martin Guitar Company during the week.
